Summary of the Scheme
In exchange for scrapping your old vehicle and buying a new one the Government and Renault will contribute a total of £2,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle The scheme started on May 18th 2009 The scheme will be available until 28th February 2010, Now extended until 31st March or until the Government's subsidy has been spent, whichever comes first. Excludes Channel Islands & Isle of Man
Eligibility of the old vehicle

Cars first registered before 28 February 2000 and Vans first registered before 28 February 2002. Vehicles must not exceed 3.5 Tonnes.

Claimant keeper must have been registered keeper for at least 12 months before new vehicle order date.

Registered keeper must have a UK address

Vehicle must have current MOT certificate

Vehicle must be clear of finance

Vehicles which are dealer owned, stolen or insurance write-offs will be ineligible for the scheme.

Must be a UK specification car or van not exceeding 3.5 tonnes (N1 class)
Eligibility of the New Vehicle
First registered new in the UK on or after 18th may 2009 and declared new at first registration in UK with no former keepers.

Registered to the same keeper as registered keeper of the scrapped vehicle.

The new vehicle cannot be used.

The new vehicle cannot be registered as a demo or as a used car.

Parallel/grey imports are ineligible for the scheme.

Customers will have full choice of manufacturer’s car and van ranges.

Orders placed before 18th May will be ineligible.

One 'old vehicle' scrappage subsidy per one new vehicle bought.
