The new Renault Scénic and Grand Scénic models for 2012 are sharper in design, more economical and boast a number of equipment enhancements.
Both versions of Scénic feature a revised look with more contemporary front styling, plus gloss black and chrome detailing, standard LED daytime running lights and new rear lights. The range also welcomes two new body colours, Azzurro Blue and Damask Red.
Scénic and Grand Scénic 2012 is launched with just one trim level – Dynamique TomTom. This continues to have class-leading levels of equipment and for 2012, on top of its core equipment: 16” alloy wheels, auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth™, cruise control, Carminat TomTom Live satellite navigation, it now includes rear parking sensors and LED daytime running lights as standard.
Available as an option on all versions of the Dynamique TomTom (except the 1.6 VVT 110), a new Luxe Pack offers some impressive equipment worth considerably in excess of its £1,500 price tag. Included in it are 17” ‘Sari’ alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, BOSE Energy Efficient sound system with nine speakers, digital amplifier, sliding centre console, electrically folding door mirrors and the Visio System.
The two new Scénics each play an important part in achieving Renault’s target to become Europe’s number one manufacturer with regard to the CO2 emissions of its range, without detracting from performance

Two new Renault engines debut in the Scénic 2012 range, the 1.2 TCe 115 petrol (available from April 2012) and 1.6 dCi 110 Stop & Start, both with impressive performance, economy and emission figures. The latter offers class-leading 68.9 mpg (combined cycle). The new downsized engines offer greater performance and fuel efficiency through smaller cubic capacity engine innovation and technologies derived from Formula 1 (Stop & Start, brake energy regeneration).
The fantastic new 1.6 dCi 130 engine is the first engine from the new ENERGY range. These engines benefit from a host of eco-technologies such as ‘Stop and Start’ and regenerative braking, combining a reduction in CO2 emissions with reduced fuel consumption. The Scénic dCi 130 recently received four stars out of five in a What Car? review and won the 2011 Next Green Car MPV award.
With seats that can be folded down or removed completely, Scénic is a compact MPV that offers endless configurations to accommodate from one to four passengers and loads of stuff, perfect for family life.
Parts of the upholstery fabric benefit from Teflon ® treatment. Renault is the first carmaker to offer a textile label treatment with Teflon ® Automotive High Protection.
This innovative upholstery repels water-based liquids and oil, and facilitates cleaning. Teflon ® treatment protects each textile fibre without changing the look, feel or comfort, and thus retains the appearance of new upholstery. With its stain-resistant coating and anti-fouling, developed in partnership with DuPont, you will not have any problems keeping your car clean.
Scénic and Grand Scénic will also be the first models to feature the Visio System® by Renault which assists the driver’s vigilance and night-time vision thanks to two key functions. This latest innovation by the French brand combines a lane departure warning system and an automatic high/low beam headlight function. See the video below
Driving and travelling comfort have been further enhanced by the addition of new features which come as standard equipment. Hill Start Assist prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards when pulling away on a slope, while lane change indicators warn other motorists when the driver is about to change lanes by flashing three times following a simple flick of the indicator stalk.

Scénic delivers technology that’s truly state of the art. First, there’s Carminat TomTom Live with a 5.8” screen, safety camera alerts, speed limits, local Google search, weather forecast and real time high definition traffic. Next, there’s the Bose® sound system giving you a unique acoustic experience that’s as close as possible to live sound. Finally, there’s the reversing camerato help with your manoeuvring
